Solid Oak Dining Chairs by Amish Craftsmen
Adding Oak dining room chairs around your solid wood table creates a durable, long-lasting dining set. At Dutch Craft Furniture of Berlin, we offer a wide range of solid Oak dining chairs. From traditional to modern, explore the options for solid Oak dining room chairs.
Red Oak vs White Oak Dining Chairs
Our local Amish furniture makers offer both Red Oak and White Oak wood for all chair styles. Red Oak wood is more common and the more affordable option. All painted Oak furniture features Red Oak wood for that reason. The Arlington Dining Chairs feature a painted frame and wood-stained seat that mixes White and Red Oak.
Many traditional, light Oak dining chairs like the High Bent Paddle Chairs often feature Red Oak wood. Darker stains on Red Oak wood minimize the texture of the grain and add a contemporary feel. The Laker chair in a warm, Stone Brown stain on Red Oak is a budget friendly option for modern dining sets.
White Oak is similar in grain texture when straight sawn, with a blonde natural color. Popular color options include Cocoa Light and Stone Brown.
Between the two options, White Oak wood is slightly harder than Red Oak. With the higher price tag, we offer White Oak in select grade and rustic grade wood. Farmhouse dining room furniture is perfect for Rustic White Oak. The inclusion of small knots in the wood adds to the character and charm.
Select White Oak is ideally suited for modern, mid-century chair styles like the Windsor or Cordelle chairs. Modern White Oak dining chairs may also be rift sawn, creating a sleek, uniform texture to the wood grain.
Mission dining chairs often showcase Quarter Sawn White Oak wood. This method of cutting Oak lumber highlights the medullary rays in the grain and shines on Mission dining chairs. Quarter sawn White Oak wood is also available in rustic or select grade. Our Heavy Mission Dining Collection features rustic quarter sawn White Oak dining chairs with Michael's Cherry stain.
Black and Oak Dining Chairs
We display black chair frame with a variety of wood-stained seats. Most black frames are Maple wood, paired with an Oak or Cherry dining seat, stained to match your tabletop. Black chair frames are available on Oak wood upon request. Oak wood with a black stain will show the texture of the grain, where Maple creates a smooth black finish.
White and Oak Dining Chairs
We display several combinations of white and Oak dining chair sets. Our Farmhouse Trestle Dining Set features a combination of Maple and White Oak wood. The table base and chair frames are Maple with Glacier White paint and glaze. Chair seats and the tabletop are Rustic White Oak with Stone Brown stain.
The Arcadia Dining Set features a rustic farm table and Arlington Chairs. The table base and chair frames are Red Oak wood. We add Coastal White, a paint and glaze that enhances the Oak grain texture and has a warm farmhouse style. The chair seats and the tabletop are Rustic White Oak wood, shown with Cocoa Light stain.
Paint and glaze finishes are more affordable on Oak wood dining chairs. The texture in the grain adds dimension and needs no additional distressing for Oak wood. Maple has a smooth grain, and we often lightly distress the wood to enhance the paint and glaze colors. Our Maple chairs with Glacier and Coastal White are often more expensive because of the additional distressing.
Additional Kitchen and Dining Oak Chair Options
Our solid wood dining chairs are available as side chairs or with arms. All dining chairs are available with matching bar stools for your kitchen counter. Choose from 24" or 30" bar stools with stationary or swivel bases.
Notice the lumbar support in the steam bent backs and various seat profiles on the Oak dining chairs. Request a fabric or leather seat for even more comfort at the dining table. We offer a wide range of easy to clean fabrics and leathers for your convenience.
View our color options page for a complete list of stains available on Oak wood. From classics like Fruitwood and Michael's Cherry to modern stains like Cocoa Light and Stone Brown, there is something for everyone.
Care and Cleaning of Oak Dining Chairs
Caring for your new Oak dining room chairs is quick and simple. Keep the chairs indoors, in controlled temperature and humidity to avoid stress on the Oak wood. Regularly clean your chairs with a mild detergent and warm water to prevent dust buildup. We do not recommend wood polishes or conditioners on our Oak dining chairs.
The variation in texture of Oak wood grain is excellent at hiding knicks and scratches that may occur over time. Request a complementary stain pen to touch up any noticeable scratches in the wood.
