King Size Bed with Storage Options

The addition of a storage platform base is a popular option for all bed styles. Choose any headboard you like and add the storage drawer base. We offer three different drawer layouts for king platform beds.

The first storage platform is a standard, siderail drawer unit. Each side of the bed has two spacious drawers, built into the standard siderail and raised from the floor. This option is compatible with any style of footboard, standard height or low profile.

The second layout for adding storage to a king size headboard is the siderail and footboard drawer unit. This option includes two drawers that extend from a low-profile footboard, with another drawer on each side of the bed. Our Miranda king sleigh bed displays this unit in solid Maple wood with Asbury Brown stain.

Finally, the last drawer layout option for king platform beds is the deep to floor, siderail drawers. This unit includes two extra deep drawers on each side of the bed, extending all the way to the floor.

All three storage bases include a solid platform on top of the drawers. This eliminates the need for a box spring to support your mattress. The drawers in the king storage beds include high-quality, full extension slides and dove tailed drawer boxes. Soft closing drawer slides are available upon request.

Along with a storage platform, we also offer king size headboards with storage. The bookcase unit bed features a full-size cabinet built into either side of the headboard. The bookcase unit bed even includes hidden storage compartments for jewelry, handguns, or other valuable items.

King vs California King Bed Dimensions

The dimensions of a standard king mattress are 76 inches wide x 80 inches long. A California King mattress is 72 inches wide x 84 inches long. All Amish made beds are available as a king or California king size bed.

The overall dimensions of a standard king bed vary by the style of the headboard and footboard you choose. Most wooden king bed frames are approximately 84 inches wide x 84 inches long.

Choose a California king bed frame with storage for small bedrooms when sharing the bed with tall sleepers. The four inches narrower may save valuable extra space, depending on the room size.

King vs Queen Bed Dimensions

Queen sized mattresses are 60 inches wide x 80 inches long. A king size mattress is the same length, but 16 inches wider than a queen mattress. King mattress dimensions are 76 inches wide x 80 inches long.

Are Wooden King Beds Compatible with Adjustable Bases?

Our wooden king beds are compatible with a variety of adjustable bases. We offer several layout options. Choose a complete king bed unit with a headboard and footboard or pair your adjustable base with a headboard only.

When you opt for a complete headboard and footboard unit for your adjustable base, there are a few considerations. Double checking the height of your adjustable base feet will help us to build the bed to completely hide the unsightly metal frame. Request the horizontal wood slats and support feet to use with your king bed if you ever switch from the adjustable base.
