A writing desk is a small table used as a desk, usually with several small drawers underneath the top. Common sizes for writing desks range from 48-60 inches long x 22-30 inches deep. Options for a Small 48 Inch Desk

All small wooden desks by Amish craftsmen offer the ability to customize as you prefer. Like the rest of our home office furniture, small desks are available in Red or White Oak, Maple, Cherry, Hickory, Elm and Walnut wood. Choose your favorite wood type and stain or paint color.
Desktops range from 22-30 inches deep. All desk styles are available in your preferred size. Extra narrow desks with 22-inch-deep tops are ideally suited as writing desks with small drawers.
Most 48-inch wooden desks will have a set of drawers along one side. This includes a pair of standard size drawers and one file drawer at the bottom. A fourth drawer at the top of the kneehole makes a great pencil drawer. Some desks include a pullout board to extend work surface as needed.
We display the Austin Small Wooden Desk and the Manhattan Small Wooden Desk as 48-inch desks. All desk styles are available in custom sizes as well. Desks smaller than 48-inches wide will likely include only one or two drawers underneath the top. Larger desk sizes may include drawers on both sides of the kneehole.
All drawers in Amish made desks include dovetailed joints at the front and back of the drawer. These dovetailed drawers create a strong durable drawer box that will function smoothly for many years. High-quality drawer slides open to fully access the entire depth of the drawers. Soft closing drawer slides are available on any office desk on request.
The finish on all Amish made desks is a catalyzed conversion varnish. This finish is waterproof, heat resistant to 220 degrees and UV resistant to fading. No more worries about your cold drink leaving a water ring on your wooden desktop.
