Craftsman Mission Style Bedroom Furniture
Classic Amish Mission Bedroom
Our Craftsman Amish mission bedroom set features a high-quality bed. The mission headboard features wood slats and panels. Additional matching pieces of furniture include a dresser with a mirror, chest of drawers, lingerie dresser, and nightstand.
Keep your jewelry organized in the complementary armoire. Our set showcases Quartersawn White Oak and the natural grains in the wood shine with Michael's Cherry stain.
We display the mission style headboard and footboard with optional, platform storage drawers. The drawers add the same amount of storage space as a chest of drawers. Everything hides neatly underneath the bed, and the solid platform eliminates the need for a box spring.
For those who do not need the additional storage, the standard bed frame with siderails and slats is always an option. In this case, you will use a box spring for supporting the mattress.
The king-sized bed has several popular layouts. The mission style king headboard with a low-profile footboard is especially great for smaller bedrooms. You can also use the mission king headboard and matching footboard without drawers under the bed.
As a queen size, our most popular combination is the mission style queen headboard with the matching footboard and deep to floor storage drawers. For smaller bedrooms, use the low-profile footboard instead.
For children's bedrooms, a twin or full-sized headboard is also available. We recommend shortening the height of the wood headboard with twin size beds.
Our mission bedroom furniture collections offer a variety of dresser sizes and layouts for ultimate flexibility. Common dresser lengths include 56", 60" and 65" wide.
The traditional low dresser height is around 35" high with a layout of 7 drawers. Low dressers are common in smaller bedrooms. They are perfect in the nursery as a changing table that grows with your baby. For nursery use, we build the dresser with a removable changing converter.
We offer a taller version of our dressers as well, about 42-46" high, with an added row of drawers. Add storage without using additional floor space. Mirrors are available for any dresser size.
Mission style furniture started around 1900 with New England furniture retailer Joseph McHugh. Defined by straight lines and flat, inset panels in the furniture pieces, the sturdy style highlights the natural wood. Mission style beds may sometimes have only slats as well. Some traditional mission styles will feature mortise and tenon joints.
As always, our local Amish artisans use solid wood for construction. Craftsmen traditionally use solid Quartersawn White Oak for mission style furniture, however other solid hardwood types are also available. We dovetail all our drawers for maximum strength and durability. The standard drawer slides are a full extension side mount slide, with soft close drawer slides available on request.
